Finalists in the PAK’n SAVE Kapiti Sportsperson of the Year

34 Finalists in the PAK’n SAVE Kapiti Sportsperson of the Year Awards Were Announced This Week.

Organisers, the Lions Club of Kapiti were very pleased with the total number of nominations received (65), especially as more nominations were put forward this year by the clubs, rather than family members having to do it.

President of the Kapiti Lions Club, Brian Daw said “it’s great to have the clubs promoting their athletes and support people by nominating them in the Awards. Our finalists go through to the Wellington Sports Awards so their recognition extends beyond just Kapiti.”

“All finalists have now been contacted by phone and we’re looking forward to announcing the winners at the Awards dinner on the 13th of May”.

The finalists in the 2015 Awards are:

Administrator of the Year: Patrick Caudle (Basketball), Alana Webb (Hockey), Sandra Bednarek (Surf Life Saving)

Official of the Year: Natasha Perkins (Surf Life Saving), Lucy Townend (Hockey),

Holly Moody (Netball)

Sports Volunteer of the Year: Steve McArthur (Basketball), Sean Kelly (Football),

Steve Dickenson (Surf Life Saving), Tau Neary (Netball)

Coach of the Year: Catarina Strom (Equestrian), Gavin Snowsill (Gymnastics),

Peter Housiaux (Canoe Polo)

Disabled Athlete of the Year: Santana Chapman (Swimming), David Harrison (Boccia), Gavin Rolton, (Wheelchair Rugby)

Paekakariki IRB Team, Kapiti Vaulting Equestrian Team, Kapiti College Senior A Netball team

Club of the Year: Otaki Golf Club, Kapiti Gymnastics Club, Kapiti Coast United Football Club

Emerging Sportswoman of the Year: Katie Trott (Surf Life Saving), Rebecca Moynihan (Swimming), Jordyn Marie Pfeiler (Canoe Polo)

Emerging Sportsman of the Year: Emmerson Kavakura (Multi Sport), Stefan Przychodzko (Running and Tri), Ethan Reti (Gymnastics)

Sportswoman of the Year: Keeley O'Hagan (High Jump), Jordan Housiaux (Canoe Polo), Tess Allen (Kayaking)

Sportsman of the Year: Jayden Stratford (Softball), Kieran Rutten (Clay Target Shooting), Kurtis Imrie (Surf Life Saving).
