MediaWorks Announces Dancing with the Stars Hosts

MediaWorks and BBC Worldwide ANZ are delighted to announce host Dominic Bowden alongside co-host Sharyn Casey for the hit series Dancing with the Stars.

Stepping off The X Factor NZ stage and onto the dance floor, Dominic Bowden is excited to be hosting Dancing with the Stars in New Zealand, which is a brand new reality format for TV3.

“I know this show like the back of my hand after being on set for six months last year in the USA" , says Bowden.
“The energy, the pressure, the sportsmanship of it all, when I heard there was a New Zealand version in the works; I was the first to put my hand up”.

Bowden has been at the forefront of television in New Zealand for the past 15 years. His vast experience, together with his versatility, has placed him as one of the country’s most respected television personalities.

Making her moves beneath the mirror ball alongside Bowden will be The Edge Afternoon’s Sharyn Casey, who has been with The Edge radio station for just shy of nine years.

With her recent TV experience presenting on FOUR LIVE, as well as being one of the hosts of The Xtra Factor - the twice weekly dissection of The X Factor NZ - Casey can’t wait to be in the best spot in the house to watch the low dips and occasional snapped heel.

"When they first asked me I thought it was my radio co-hosts Guy & Clint playing a joke on me because they knew I really wanted to be part of the show”, says Casey.

“The last couple of months being part of The X Factor NZ has been amazing so when they asked me to co-host DWTS I jumped at the opportunity!"

The names of the 10 Kiwi stars who will be slipping into the sequinned outfits, along with when the show goes to air, will be announced at a later date.

Dancing with the Stars will continue the MediaWorks trend of cross-platform integration with extensive extra coverage available on tv3.co.nz and across social media on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
Dancing with the Stars is a BBC Worldwide format produced by TV3. The smash-hit BBC format is licensed to 52 countries, with over 250 series aired around the world to date
