Semi Permanent Announce Three New Speakers

Semi-Permanent is back for 2015 - it’s time once again to transform the city into a buzzing hive of creative conversation and connections. Come drink from the pool of expertise and inspiration on 3 and 4 July 2015, with lectures and workshops from the sharpest minds and skills in international design, digital, advertising, graphics, typography and more. Three outstanding speakers have been added to an already teeming roster:

Tomáš Libertiny

Tomáš Libertiny is the founder of experimental design and architecture Studio Libertiny. Most well-known for his artworks involving honeybees, his list of projects and exhibits is a who’s-who of fashion, art and design: Louis Vuitton, FENDI, Christofle, Design Miami/Basel, MoMa, Venice Biennale, Museum of Art and Design in New York, the Paris Metro, V&A Museum in London. Focused on exploring conceptual and physical strategies in object design and construction, Libertiny’s curiosity of nature, technology and science provides the basis for the studio's innovative approach in creating functional objects and poetic and artistic statements. ‘...his work ingeniously combines the technical know-how of industrial design with the poetry of art, blurring as a result the lines between creative disciplines and industry norms.’ (yatzer.com)

Kathryn Wilson

Kathryn Wilson is New Zealand's premier footwear designer. Her fanbase reaches as far and high as Beyoncé, and it’s no surprise - after a decade in creating fashion-forward shoe designs straddling practicality and luxury with an avant-garde edge. Since 2003 Kathryn Wilson has been one of the fastest-growing local fashion brands, expanding to sub-brands Miss Wilson, Little Miss Wilson for kids and most recently, Baby Wilson. Stocked in over 100 local boutiques and with an ever-growing online market, the label is on the front foot in the fashion industry. Her acute business acumen means Kathryn is in demand as an international brand ambassador, collaborating with BMW, Veuve Clicquot, Orly, Sanpellegrino, Vodafone and MorrocanOil. Locally, Kathryn is a driving force in fashion, hosting the first exclusive footwear runway show in New Zealand at Fashion Week in 2010, followed by a 2,500 strong social media-driven show at the same event in 2011. Kathryn Wilson is set to be a wardrobe staple for Kiwi women and men for years to come.
