Call for applications for the 2016- 2017 residencies

Call for applications for the 2016- 2017 residencies.

Deadline 10 July 2015

The McCahon House Trust is now calling for applications from professional visual artists for the McCahon House Artist’s Residency programme, deadline 10 July 2015.

Three residencies, each of three months duration, are available between 1 September 2016 and 30 July 2017.

The residencies are available to New Zealanders or New Zealand residents who are outstanding emergent or mid career art practitioners working in the disciplines of visual arts and who are interested in a supported opportunity to develop their practice.

"I recommend the McCahon House Studio Residency to artists as it is a great opportunity to work and live in an incredible and mostly peaceful setting. The house and studio are well appointed and the environment around Titirangi is awesome.” Dan Arps, Artist in Residence 2014

Visual art is defined as painting, photography (digital and traditional), mixed media, drawing, sculpture and installation, including the exhibition of moving image within a visual arts context. Artists receiving the residency must live and work in the purpose built two bedroomed house with attached studio, during which time they will receive a stipend funded from Creative New Zealand Toi Uru Kahikatea Investment programme. Please note: the studio is not huge and its position on a steep slope makes access for large and/or bulky sculptural materials difficult.

To apply for the residency, please download application form from the website www.mccahonhouse.org.nz. Or request a form as a word document from McCahon House Trust via diane@mccahonhouse.org.nz
