World Vision & The Edge launch ‘Famine TV’
In the lead up to the 40 Hour Famine,
World Vision and The Edge launch Famine TV, an online
platform where Kiwis can share what they’re doing to fight
hunger by uploading videos of themselves and their friends
taking part in the 40 Hour Famine.
Over the next month, participants can create weekly videos on the following four topics:
• Why I’ve joined the fight against
hunger (deadline for submission May
7)
•
• Which celebrity team
I’m getting behind (deadline for submission May 14)
•
• How I’m raising money for
children in Bangladesh (deadline for submission May 21)
•
• What I’m doing over the
40 Hour Famine weekend (deadline for submission May
25)
•
The videos must be 90 seconds or
less and can be uploaded at www.worldvision.org.nz/FamineTV
The best clips will feature on World Vision’s YouTube channel and Famine TV webpage. The ‘’Pick of the week” will win a Logitech Ultimate Ears Boom Mini Portable Speaker and screen on that Friday’s episode of The Edge TV’s Smash!
Smash! hosts and Famine ambassadors Marty Hehewerth and Steph Monks are excited to see young Kiwis get creative and share their 40 Hour Famine stories.
“We’ve been known to make a cheeky video or two, so we’re pumped to see what participants come up with, and how they spread the word about a really good cause,” says Marty.
“We want entries from up and down the country. Make them goodies – we’ll be judging!” adds Steph.
Stay tuned to Famine TV throughout the month of May for other content including video messages from our celebrity ambassadors including Marty and Steph (Team Yellow), The Shortland Street girls Grace and Lucy (Team Blue), The 4.30 Show’s Mike, Eve & Adam (Team Green) and Kim Crossman and Jamie Curry (Team Red).
This years’ 40 Hour Famine will take place Friday
22nd May – Sunday 24th May. All funds raised from New
Zealand’s largest youth event will go toward fighting
malnutrition in Bangladesh
