The hunt is on for New Zealand’s new “Toy Tester Superstars”
Who has what it takes to test the best?

The Warehouse’s nationwide search for two new Toy Testers kicks off this month, with two lucky kids set to land one of the country’s most desirable jobs; keeping Kiwi kids up to date with the newest and coolest toys before they hit the shelves.

Celebrating its famous annual Toy Sale, in early July, The Warehouse is inviting aspiring Toy Testers – children aged 5 to 9 – to show the country their toy testing talents in a bid to land the coveted role.

The Warehouse CEO, Simon Turner, says that Toy Testers are an important part of The Warehouse family, fulfilling a special role, which is also a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

“Children are the best judges when it comes to knowing what other children like. They understand what kids are looking for when it comes to toys, so we really value the ‘work’ of our Toy Testers, playing with our new-release toys and offering inspiration to customers who aren’t sure what to buy.”

Keen contenders are invited to upload a short video clip to YouTube, demonstrating with their toys how they would be the ultimate Toy Tester, and what makes them the perfect person for the role.

The Warehouse will bring the best 20 entrants to Auckland to audition for the top job, with two children then chosen become the new Toy Tester Superstars, starting an adventure like no other; a fun-filled journey including special appearances and being part of campaigns like Halloween, testing toys for upcoming launches and of course, Christmas.

The two winning Toy Testers will be the envy of their school mates, also taking home a range of prizes:
· A laptop valued at $550

· A Panasonic camera and accessories valued at $400

· $1,500 cash, and

· $200 worth of toys each month for a year

Retiring Toy Tester, nine-year-old Evie MacDonald from Christchurch, shares what she loves most about the role: “I get a surprise box of toys EVERY month and I get to fly to Auckland for photoshoots and my photos are on The Warehouse website.”

The Warehouse’s annual Toy Sale is one the company’s biggest events of the year, offering families unbeatable prices on kids’ favourite brands and top-quality toys. The sale runs from early July and, with 92 stores and online shopping, The Warehouse Toy Sale reaches every corner of New Zealand.
