Better Home & Living Show

Better Home & Living Show – Clever Solutions Under One Roof

Over 130 exhibitors, countless great products and ideas, for three days, at one premier location! You don’t need to be good with numbers to work out that the Hawke’s Bay Better Home & Living Show is the smart and easy solution for anyone wanting to improve their surroundings and their lifestyle. Kitchens, heating, solar energy solutions, home décor, health products, carpets, beds, insulation and landscaping will all be on display under one roof – and that’s just a fraction of what’s on offer.

From Friday through to Sunday, the Pettigrew Green Arena will be the place to go for fantastic show-only specials and the latest innovations in home improvements. Show organiser, Daniel Joll says, “One lucky visitor will also win a week for two in Fiordland, valued at over $5350, thanks to Real Journeys. The Discovery Expedition tour will explore Fiordland by motorized classic yacht, delving in to the rich natural and human histories of the region, with opportunities to disembark and explore relics of settlements long past with a nature guide. Air NZ will provide flights to and from Queenstown. Show-goers need only provide their contact details on arrival to enter. ”

The event will provide a preview of the latest in home improvements. For instance, Liz Ensor from the Kitchen Studio says, “We will have the incredible Asko I-chef oven on display. It has a touch and scroll display and is fully programmable, making it so clever that users only need to select the type of dish, weight and preferred browning level to produce perfectly cooked food. A show-only special means that the oven and an iconic Dualit toaster can be bought for just $2,200, saving visitors $2,700. We will also be showcasing a stunning new copper gloss finish on kitchen cabinetry. Anyone who buys a kitchen as a result of booking an appointment at the show will qualify for a kitchen upgrade of up to the value of $5,000.”

The team at the Freenergy stand will be displaying the latest solar power technology, including the next generation of Enphase micro inverters, where shading on one solar panel won't affect the output of any other panels, allowing households to get the most power from their system. They will also have ingenious new products that divert excess generation to the hot water cylinder, maximising power and greatly reducing power bills.

NOW Broadband & Calling will be running a prize draw at their stand, where the winner will receive a $1,200 package of free unlimited ultra-fast broadband with a phone line for a year.

An extended outdoor living section will include plants, garden tools, animal housing and garden screens. Riverside Perennials will be there with its range of herbs, shrubs and perennials, all of which are grown in Waipawa. They will have a show-only special of eight plants for just $20. Meanwhile Kiwi Bees will be selling their new Comb Honey units for the first time, meaning that people can now enjoy raw unprocessed comb honey, just like they did as children.

Arnaud Malek of Flying Cat NZ says, “We looking forward to introducing show visitors to a new, top-end electric mountain bike called the ‘Mounty X2’. With its light weight, hydraulic brakes, suspension and sleek design, it’s proving a real hit and if ordered at the show, will save buyers $500.”

Other attractions include free daily seminars, packed with advice and inspiration on landscaping, interior design, solar savings and outdoor living. It’s not just an event for adults either, there’s fun for the whole family with the Resene Paint-a-Pot and Paint-a-Gnome Challenge on Saturday and Sunday from 10 am until 2 pm. An alfresco dining area will keep visitors refreshed and refuelled, and there is free parking.
