SMOKEFREE PACIFICA BEATS 2015 – East Coast region final

SMOKEFREE PACIFICA BEATS 2015 – East Coast region final on 6 June

Young musos with a Maori or Pacifica Flavour to their sound have the chance to shine next Saturday in the East Coast Smokefree Pacifica Beats 2015.

Smokefree Pacifica Beats producer Elena Lome says the event offers the students a platform for a live performance.

“Students enter Smokefree Pacifica Beats for all sorts of reasons – some are focussed on a career in music, some are in it just for fun but for many it is the journey more than the outcome or prizes that attracts them,” Elena says. “By working in groups and performing on a professional stage they learn a lot about themselves, the music industry, their own skills and they gain so much confidence.”

Smokefree Pacifica Beats recognises and reflects the unique cultural identity of Aotearoa New Zealand and the South Pacific, with entrants required to have some Maori or Pacific cultural elements in their music or performance.

Those competing to join the ranks of Kiwi music success at the East Coast regional final are:
