Joyce's Ulysses Comes to BATS, this Bloomsday

Joyce's Ulysses Comes to BATS, this Bloomsday. ONE SHOW ONLY.

The Year of Reading Massively is a 12-month podcast project from award-winning comedian and writer Jonny Potts. On June 16th he will be joined by Wellington improv doyenne Jen O'Sullivan, writer and director Uther Dean ('Spyfinger!', 'A Show About Superheroes') and comedian Jarrod Baker (Billy T Award winner), to talk about James Joyce's modernist classic, Ulysses.

June 16th is the day on which the events of Ulysses take place, and is marked internationally as 'Bloomsday'. We'd like you to join us for a drink to celebrate the book, the man, and the fact we made it all the way through. This will not be a lecture, nor is it likely to be particularly well-informed. If you've never read the book, grab a drink and let us try to tell you what you're missing. And if you're a Joyce enthusiast, well, we may well need your help.

A one-off, koha performance.

This will be the first live recording of the podcast, which has so far featured long works by Leo Tolstoy, Simone de Beauvoir and Fyodor Dostoevsky. Books by Charles Dickens, Norman Mailer and David Foster Wallace and more will follow.

When: Tuesday June 16, 8pm
Where: BATS Theatre Studio, 1 Kent Terrace
Restrictions: All Ages
Tickets: Koha show
