The Dragon is back – and we’ve set this b*%#@!! on fire

In 2014, thousands of kiwis were reduced to tears and convulsions when they attempted to slay the Angry Dragon. Only a few brave heroes succeeded and were able to claim they were up to HELL Pizza’s challenge and consume Australasia’s hottest pizza.

This year, HELL offers the defeated a chance at redemption, and the heroes another shot at glory. Introducing…… The Flaming Dragon. Hotter, scarier and more intimidating than anything before it, The Flaming Dragon makes even The Angry Dragon cower in fear!

The new recipe has 50% more Ghost Peppers, 40% more Dragon’s Fury Sauce and a lick of flame for those who dine in store. Favourable growing conditions have made this year’s crop of Ghost Peppers, grown in the far north of New Zealand, even hotter than last year’s. The Flaming Dragon has heat like you’ve never experienced.

HELL general manager Ben Cumming says that only the bravest of souls should consider taking on the challenge.

“This one is even hotter than last year – it has more chilli, more hot sauce, and it’s literally set on fire in the store in front of the customer,” says Ben. “This pizza is not to be messed with, even those crazy enough to have slayed the dragon last year will have a tough time dealing with this one.”

Once again, customers dining in at HELL can enter the ‘Slay the Dragon’ Challenge. Participants who successfully finish the entire pizza will receive:

• A set of HELL victory sweat bands to mop their brow
• A Dragon Slayer certificate
• Full bragging rights with their picture on the HELL ‘Wall of Flame’ in-store and on the HELL Facebook page.

HELL customers eating the pizza at home will be able to post the evidence on the HELL Facebook page for inclusion on the online Wall of Flame and Wall of Shame or send videos and imagery to feedback@hell.co.nz.

There are strict guidelines around who can purchase The Flaming Dragon. The pizza cannot be eaten by anyone who is under 18 years old, pregnant, or suffers from any condition that may be exacerbated by eating hot food. Customers must also sign a mandatory waiver that indemnifies HELL from loss or damages and assumes all risks of personal injury, possible loss of life, loss of earnings, and risks of damage to or loss of personal property. Customers who dine in store will be able to have their Flaming Dragon set alight by one of the trained HELL Dragon tamers.

“Safety is of course a priority,” says Ben. “As well as strict rules around who can buy and consume the pizza, HELL employees have also received detailed instructions to prevent any incidents.”

The Flaming Dragon is available in snack size only, for $10. Customers can choose a vegetarian option by removing the pepperoni.
