International model returns to coach up and coming models

International model returns to coach up and coming Bintang Models

Brogan Wilkinson

Brogan Wilkinson, an international model from New Zealand, has signed with leading Auckland modelling and management agency, Bintang Models. She's set to continue working in fashion and TV commercials, while also taking on the intriguing role of Model Coach for the agency.

Today she's poised and stunning, having worked overseas extensively appearing on catwalks, billboards and TV commercials as well as in print but Brogan began modelling as a 17-year-old, later setting off for Manila, deeply nervous about her first time travelling alone.

"I left New Zealand in December 2014, I was extremely nervous as it was my first time in an unknown country where English wasn't the first language," remembers Brogan. "However, I realised straight away that their English is amazing so I felt quite at ease in Manila!"

But being a model can be a hard job, as Brogan discovered. "I became very run down at times. I remember when I had a stomach bug and had a fashion show the next day. I could have just given up and stayed home but as a model you need to keep a good name for yourself and being reliable is key."

Patric Seng, director of Bintang Models & Management is super excited to have Wilkinson as the agency's model coach. "Combining Brogan's experience with ours is going to be amazing for the up and coming models already signed to the agency."

What was most eye-opening for Brogan while she was overseas were the concepts photographers were using. "It really challenged me as a model and it often wasn't your classic studio shoot. I mean, at one point I was shooting on the edge of a waterfall! The crews overseas believed anything was possible; their shoot concepts were amazing."

It's this kind of next-level creativity that Brogan and Patric are excited to bring to Bintang Models.

"I can't wait to share and teach tricks of the trade I have learnt and get these surprisingly talented Bintang models ready to head overseas, just like I did," says Brogan. "Maybe even travel as a whole agency - now that would be fun!"
