SeaSational D’LuxBurger at InterContinental Wellington

SeaSational D’LuxBurger at InterContinental Wellington

An incomparable burger experience is presented with flourish at The Lobby Lounge of InterContinental Wellington during this year’s Visa Wellington On A Plate – unless your burgers always include crayfish, caviar and Krug champagne.

At $350 per person, D’LuxBurger is a gourmet ‘SeaSational’ trio, combining the region’s most decadent seafood ingredients with perfectly matched accompaniments designed by the hotel’s culinary experts to create a truly gastronomic indulgence.

The extravagance starts with Ngawi-sourced crayfish, topped with black truffle mayonnaise and organic greens, all within a flour brioche (aka burger number one). A gold-flaked vodka martini, house-infused with lemon and orange, creates a refreshing citrus burst to match the succulent crayfish.

After calming the excited tastebuds with a Whitemans Valley lemon sorbet drizzled with Krug Champagne, the second burger indulgence continues the luxurious bubbly theme with a glass of Krug accompanying groper, mizuna, taramasalata, and caviar perched on a terraza saffron bun.

The culinary indulgence concludes with slow-poached south coast Wellington paua and local watercress with king crab hollandaise wrapped in a karengo scented flour bun. Accompanied by 2012 Martinborough Dry River Pinot Gris, the wine’s finesse and delicate character accentuates the

this final stage of the SeaSational burger trilogy.

The diner’s memory of the evening is further enhanced by a glittering crystal gift on departure.

Available in The Lobby Lounge 14-30 August.

Chameleon Restaurant at InterContinental Wellington is also participating in Visa Wellington on A Plate with ‘A Culinary Journey’, an informative gourmet adventure.
