A Great Kiwi Love Story with a Soundtrack to Match

A Great Kiwi Love Story with a Soundtrack to Match

PANNZ Touring in collaboration with Creative New Zealand presents:
DAFFODILS by Bullet Heart Club
[INSPIRED BY TRUE EVENTS]

One of Auckland’s favourite plays from 2014,Daffodils, is going on a road trip around Aotearoa. The award-winning Kiwi cabaret that had people begging for tickets, is stopping off in Taranaki, Oamaru, Wellington, Blenheim and Christchurch this August.

Daffodils is the story of 16-year-old Rose and 18-year-old Eric – a teddy boy and a farm girl from Hamilton who met at the lake by the daffodils and fell in love. It was the same place that Eric's parents met 20 years earlier. Was it destiny? Perhaps.

The bittersweet nuances of Rose’s and Eric’s life come together in a mixed tape of New Zealand’s greatest hits performed by Todd Emerson (Westside), Colleen Davis(Chicago, Jesus Christ Superstar) and a live three-piece band led by Silver Scroll Award-winning artist Stephanie Brown (LIPS).

Writer, Rochelle Bright (Michael King Writers Residency 2015 recipient), was inspired by private letters, real interviews and family myths heard only at garage piss ups. Daffodils unfolds against a backdrop of 1960s Kodak stills, Super8 home movies and fashion photography created by one of New Zealand's leading image makers, Garth Badger.
