Former cricketer and established broadcaster Simon Doull signs with NZME

Radio Sport mornings just got even better!

19 August 2015 – New Zealand Media and Entertainment (NZME) Radio has signed former international cricketer turned broadcaster Simon Doull to join Andrew Mulligan on Radio Sport’s wildly popular The Crowd Goes Wild Breakfast show from late September.

Radio Sport Content Director, Gareth Lischner says Doull and Mulligan will be a dynamic on-air duo and will continue to grow the morning show’s reputation as an appointment to listen for all New Zealand sports fans.

“Simon is perfect for this gig,” Lischner says. “He's a great broadcaster with a huge passion and knowledge of sport, and together with Andrew they're a great combo to start mornings right on Radio Sport.”

Doull, a former Black Cap and SKY Sport cricket commentator, and Mulligan have a bromance already established first crossing paths 11 years ago when they fronted Free to Air Cricket.

“Cricket is my passion and for years it was my livelihood but I love and follow all sports,” Doull says. “I’ve always wanted a role that covers all codes of sport, so it can’t get any better than this! I needed to pinch myself when they told me I’m going to get paid to watch, talk and debate all things sport with my mate, Mulls.”

Mulligan adds, “I’m excited to work with Doully again. I hold him in high regard as a top broadcaster. Our listeners can expect the same The Crowd Goes Wild Breakfast but even better!”
