Oti Stars, as Orcas Thump Vipers

Five tries from centre Joseph Oti have helped Wellington Orcas consolidate their bright start to the 2015 NZRL National Premiership with a thumping 66-14 road victory over Central Vipers In Whanganui.

Oti had a double by halftime and added a second-half hat-trick, as the Orcas built on an opening-round draw with Akarana Falcons.

Wellington were always in control, enjoying a 28-0 advantage at the break and running in 13 tries.

The result represents a 62-point turnaround from the corresponding fixture last year, when the Vipers prevailed 32-22 at Porirua.

After two rounds of the new season, defending champions Rockcote Canterbury Bulls top the table, with a bye and win, while Orcas and Falcons lurk a point behind.

Next week, the Falcons will visit the Bulls in an early top-of-the-table clash, the Orcas host the Wai-Coa-Bay Stallions and Counties Manukau Stingrays host the Vipers.
