Writers! An opportunity to be mentored by a publisher

Writers! An opportunity to be mentored by a publisher

The NZSA / Hachette Mentorship program opens today

Today the New Zealand Society of Authors (PEN NZ Inc) opens a brand new program, the Hachette Mentorship Program. One writer gets the opportunity to work on a new draft of their completed manuscript under the joint mentorship of Hachette Australia and New Zealand.

This new initiative is for writers of fiction, non-fiction or young adult fiction who have progressed a manuscript beyond first draft, but require the objective view of an experienced publisher to provide constructive critiquing for that manuscript.

The mentorship will be personalized for the selected candidate, and will run through 2016.

The selected manuscript may be considered by Hachette for publication within 6 months of delivery of a new draft of the manuscript, but publication is not guaranteed.

To find out terms and conditions and how to apply go to the NZ Society of Authors website.

This program is proudly presented by Hachette Australia and New Zealand in partnership with The New Zealand Society of Authors (PEN NZ Inc.)

Open for applications from 9 October until midnight 9 November.
