One Love Festival - tickets selling fast!

Tickets Selling Fast To New Zealand’s Celebrated Reggae Festival -
One Love!

New Zealand’s leading reggae festival, One Love, returns to Tauranga this summer – bigger, brighter and bolder than ever before.

Pato Entertainment is proud to be bringing some of the world’s biggest reggae bands to Kiwi shores and you can see them all in one place.

In its fourth year, One Love has carved out a reputation among music lovers as the country’s purest and most trusted celebration of ‘roots, rock and reggae’. And in keeping with the event’s dedication to the genre, the 2016 festival will be held on Waitangi weekend – significantly falling on February 6 - the birthday of the late, great Bob Marley.

Stretched across two days and hosted by singer Ria Hall and Flava’s Pat Spellman, this year's festival is selling fast with a line-up featuring a who's who of reggae greats, as well as up-and-comers from all corners of the globe.

Headlining is the mighty J Boog. The Compton, California-raised singer and rapper, who's delivered hits like ‘Let’s Do It Again’ and ‘Sunshine Girl’ has topped the US Billboard and iTunes charts in countless countries and has a stack of awards and accolades to his name.

Flying the flag for the old school is the legendary Steel Pulse. The Grammy Award-winners, who formed in Birmingham in 1975, opened for Bob Marley and The Wailers on their 1978 European tour and have toured the world extensively for more than 35 years. With David Hinds and Selwyn Brown at the helm, Steel Pulse has released an impressive 11 studio albums.

Reggae ambassadors Third World, renowned for their vibrant blend of roots, reggae, pop and soul, are also a must-see. Led by founding members Stephen "Cat" Coore and Richard Daley, the six-piece formed in 1973 and topped the charts in 1978 with the classic tune 'Now That We Found Love'.

Also joining the bill is ‘so hot right now’ Common Kings. Their latest single ‘Ain’t No Stopping’ is currently featured on MTV and doing damage on radio across New Zealand. And with a new EP, HITS & MRS, set for release next month, they're tipped as one of the acts not to miss.

Rounding out the strong international bill is reggae-pop's ‘man of the moment’, Bermudian Collie Buddz; and one of the most recognised Polynesian artists in the world right now, Fiji, with his timeless mix of reggae, hip-hop, R&B and jazz.

The 2016 festival also sees a cracking local line-up, from heritage acts and crowd-pleasers such as Herbs, Ardijah and Che Fu to the modern-day red, golden, green warriors Sammy J, Tomorrow People, Swiss, Three Houses Down and Chad Chambers.

As if that wasn’t enough to get the party started, also on the bill are summer festival-favourites Katchafire, House of Shem, Kora, Sons of Zion, 1814, Pauaand Ria Hall.

And, in their first New Zealand appearance in four years – the much-respectedNesian Mystik reform just for One Love.

The One Love festival has grown over the years, gathering momentum with 2015 being the biggest to date.

“It’s important to us that we really put on a good show. In 2015 we had some of the best reggae bands worldwide including The Original Wailers, Katchafire andRebal Souljahz. The party rocked and 2016 will be even better,” says director ofPato Entertainment, Pato Alvarez.

With a line-up like this, stretched over one whole weekend and at a venue located in the pumping holiday spot of Tauranga – just minutes from some of New Zealand’s most pristine beaches – it’s not surprising that tickets to One Love are selling five times faster than last year.

You’ve heard the hype, now believe it. If there’s one must-attend musical extravaganza on your list this summer – make it One Love and look forward to positive vibes, good beats, sunshine and all things reggae.
