CricHQ gets partnership underway with Cricket SA

Kiwi company CricHQ gets partnership underway with Cricket South Africa.

CricHQ, the Wellington-based specialist in the capture and use of cricket data, has more runs on the board – this time in South Africa.

A new deal signed with Cricket South Africa (CSA) will see CricHQ implement its digital platform at all levels of the game in the Republic.

Cricket administration has traditionally consisted of paper-based, time-intensive methods of data collection. CricHQ’s revolutionary concept unites the sport’s administrative, scoring and social functions on one integrated, digital platform.

“We’re naturally thrilled to have Test cricket’s number one nation on board,” said CricHQ CEO Simon Baker. “They see in our platform a way to bring all the game’s stakeholders in South Africa together and lift cricket to another level.”

Fresh from his 133* for South Africa against India, CricHQ Brand Ambassador Faf Du Plessis highlighted the benefits CricHQ will bring to CSA.

“CricHQ’s digital efficiencies will deliver immediate benefits to administrators, coaches and scorers,” he said. “But there’s so much more to it. It will also help CSA identify future talent, increase player and fan engagement, and grow the game. I personally, am looking forward to being able to follow the big school matches when I am away on tour”

CricHQ can deliver performance insights for coaches and players, as well as providing fans with live scores and the opportunity to participate in a cricket themed social network.

Since its establishment by elite players and coaches in 2010, CricHQ has gone from strength to strength. It entered into a partnership with New Zealand Cricket in 2013 and Sri Lanka Cricket later the same year. The signing of CSA represents another major advance.

“Our mission of “Making Cricket Even Better”, said Baker. “And yes, we want to make it even better in every place possible.”
