DJ Yella Heads to Kiwi Shores

Compton’s in the House - N.W.A’s Legendary DJ Yella Heads to Kiwi Shores

Straight Outta Compton to the clubs of New Zealand – N.W.A’s very own DJ and producerDJ Yella is here next week!

As one of the founding members of N.W.A, DJ Yella and his Compton comrades – Eazy-E, Doctor Dre, Ice Cube and MC Ren – triggered a revolution in music in the 1980s that took gangsta rap with attitude to the world.

DJ Yella, along with Dr Dre, produced all three N.W.A albums as well as Eazy-E’s debut album. And although the East LA outfit disbanded in 1991, they’ve left a lasting and powerful legacy that we’re reminded of in the recently released biopic Straight Outta Compton.

The critically acclaimed blockbuster has introduced a new generation to N.W.A’s beats.

Now witness one of hip-hop’s true pioneers live in New Zealand, destroying the turntables as he plays all the 80s classics that tipped the underground urban scene on its head, and much, much more.

Don’t miss your chance to see DJ Yella perform in New Zealand next week.
