Ghost Wave Release New Single – Blues Signal ‘79

Auckland duo GHOST WAVE have released the first single off RADIO NORFOLK, slated for a 2016 release on Flying Nun Records.

Recorded at their Auckland studio, Breeze N Soul, BLUES SIGNAL ‘79 offers a departure from the monochromatic jangle-on-speed of their first LP, AGES (Flying Nun 2013).

BLUES SIGNAL ’79 was mastered by veteran producer, Pete Kember, aka Sonic Boom – noted as a member of psychedelic legends, Spacemen 3, and most recently co-collaborator on Panda Bear Vs the Grim Reaper.

“We’re psyched to have something new out in time for Christmas and the New Year, and its super good times to know there’s some other, more different tracks waiting in the wings,” said the band.

GHOST WAVE consists of Dr Billy (Matthew L Paul) and Malcolm S (Eammon Logan).
The band recently dropped the use of their real names in an experiment that developed in the studio as a way to rid ‘unnecessary personality’ making its way into the music.

“We wanted to get closer to the essence of Ghost Wave, and further from ourselves with this one.”

“We decided to put this song out first cause it's kinda different to stuff we've released before.”
