Change for Mondiale Auckland Aces to face Canterbury

Change for Mondiale Auckland Aces to face Canterbury at Hagley Oval

Tuesday, 12 January 2016

The Mondiale Auckland Aces have made one change to their 12 as they prepare for their return clash with top of the table Canterbury at Hagley Oval tomorrow.

Auckland come into the match after a six wicket loss to Canterbury at Eden Park Outer Oval on Saturday and looking to turn that result around tomorrow.

Michael Bates will again lead the side with Rob Nicol recovering from a knee injury. Michael Barry joins the side with James Fuller ending his time with the Mondiale Aces and returning to Middlesex for their pre-season. Barry has first-class experience for Auckland and recently led Auckland A at their national tournament.

Mondiale Aces coach Mark O'Donnell says his side are eager to show they are better than last Saturday's home loss.

“It's never nice to lose at home and the side came out of that game all knowing what they needed to improve on heading into the return fixture.”

"They had a couple of days to think about it and have all worked very hard at training this week to get themselves into the right mindsets for Wednesday. We know the challenge Canterbury bring and we will need to put in a sharp performance."

A team for tomorrow's game will be named from the following 12 players:

Michael Bates (Captain) (Suburbs New Lynn)
Michael Barry (Suburbs New Lynn)
Brad Cachopa (Takapuna)
Mark Chapman (Parnell)
Colin de Grandhomme (Howick Pakuranga)
Lockie Ferguson (Parnell)
Donovan Grobbelaar (Howick Pakuranga)
Michael Guptill-Bunce (Cornwall)
Shawn Hicks (Howick Pakuranga)
Tarun Nethula (Cornwall)
Robbie O'Donnell (Takapuna)
Jeet Raval (Suburbs New Lynn)
