Country sensation, Eb & Sparrow Gloucester Room Sessions

Country Sensation, Eb & Sparrow 19 March 2016 Gloucester Room Sessions, Isaac Theatre Royal

Kicking off the 2016 Gloucester Room Sessions season at the Isaac Theatre Royal and touring for the first time with Arts On Tour NZ, Wellington based Eb & Sparrow, a five piece band led by Ebony Lamb, is cementing its reputation as one of the coolest Kiwi country groups around.

Featuring expansive ballads, rollicking good-time songs and a few memorable torch-burners, Eb & Sparrow has opened for international acts and performed alongside local legends including Marlon Williams, Delaney Davidson and The Warratahs - and are noted for their storytelling as much as Ebony’s poignant vocals.

“Eb & Sparrow is a honeyed, smokey. foot tappin’ treat for the ears….the five-piece lay down whole-hearted, deep-hued, visceral tales…with such beautiful warmth and fragility you’re hooked from the first glide of lap steel to the last soaring, vocal phrase” – Lydia Jenkins, NZ Herald

“Eb & Sparrow bring Ry Cooder’s Paris, Texas twang, slide, croon and growl to the Kiwi heartland” – The Listener
