Beneath the Words - Beneath the Land

Beneath the Words - Beneath the Land

An Irish Māori Collaboration

Kei Raro I Te Kupu - Kei Raro I Te Whenua

An indigenous performance art collaboration of the Mãori & Irish cultures presented through music, storytelling, language and kapahaka. This project "Beneath The Words" specifically crosses a Taranaki Iwi with a Tipperary Clan. The show has been well received in August 2015 at shows in counties Kildare, Kerry and Cork. With planned tours of Aotearoa New Zealand's North & South Islands in 2016 you can expect a fusion of te reo Mãori waiata, haka with Irish hard hitting beats and tunes, contrasted with heartfelt sounds.

Beneath The Words is honoured to be joined on stage with guests, Cat Tunks and Jon Sanders. Cat’s influences have informed her unique style of music that melds her Māori & Irish musical heritage. Jon Sanders a virtuoso international troubadour of world music, resides in Dingle, County Kerry before he gets itchy feet and can be seen travelling the length and breath of Aotearoa during our summer months.

We hope you enjoy the show, we certainly will.
