Auckland Aces Make Change to Squad For Otago Match

The Mondiale Auckland Aces Have Made One Change to Their Squad to Face the Otago Volts at Eden Park Outer Oval Tomorrow.

Auckland remain unbeaten in this season's Plunket Shield and come into the Otago match on the back of a strong win against Wellington. Bowler Lockie Ferguson features in the playing squad for the first time since the Ford Trophy after recovering from injury. Ferguson played for his club last weekend and made it through his full complement of overs. Ferguson comes into the squad for Michael Barry.

Matthew Quinn is continuing his recovery to full bowling fitness.

Mondiale Aces coach Mark O'Donnell says his side are excited to meet the Otago Volts for the first time in the Plunket Shield this season.

“Otago are coming off a strong win at home and our matches with the white ball this season have always been close. We can't take their record so far with the red ball for granted. They are a very competitive side and we will need to be at our best."

"Rob Nicol and I have asked the guys to step up in recent weeks and it has been pleasing to see them do that and to have contributions made by a range of players."

A team for tomorrow's game will be named from the following 12 players:

Rob Nicol (c) (Cornwall)
Michael Bates (Suburbs New Lynn)
Brad Cachopa (Takapuna)
Colin de Grandhomme (Howick Pakuranga)
Lockie Ferguson (Parnell)
Donovan Grobbelaar (Howick Pakuranga)
Michael Guptill-Bunce (Cornwall)
Shawn Hicks (Howick Pakuranga)
