Auckland City Limits released its timetable and site map today for the festival’s debut at Western Springs on Saturday 19 March.

With over forty acts scheduled to appear on five stages through the twelve-hour event, it's an epic lineup for music fans – not to mention additional acts playing through the afternoon in the Auckland Kiddie Limits zone.

Opening act competition winner Night Gaunts will kick off proceedings on the V Energy Stage on Western Springs outerfields right after gates open at 11am.

ACL will finish with Grammy winner Kendrick Lamar closing the Spark Main Stage in the stadium arena at 11pm - the same time as American indie hitmakers Modest Mouse’s set ends out on the fields.

Live music runs continuously on alternating stages in both locations throughout the event. Over on the Golden Dawn stage beside the lake in Western Springs park, live acts are interspersed with comedy, DJ sets and other wonderful curios through to 8.10pm.

The timetable release confirms Kendrick Lamar’s headline length set and preceding the acclaimed Grammy winning rapper on the main stages will be 75 minute plays from American alternative superstars The National and the diaphragm-wrecking digital sonics of Fat Freddys Drop.

But there’s plenty more for fans to enjoy throughout the day including the highly touted soul hollering of St Paul & the Broken Bones, Kings of Leon meets Queens of the Stoneage New York rockers Highly Suspect, Che Fu’s run through his classic album The Navigator, the electronic pop of Australian Jarryd James and the thrilling jazz excursions of Kamasi Washington.

Big slots for The Naked and Famous, Ladyhawke, Broods and the Phoenix Foundation will make the later afternoon and early evening a great ride for NZ music fans and there’s plenty for those who are ready to party with two straight hours of high octane beats as Girl Talk and Shapeshifter go one-two on the V Energy Stages at night.

There’s plenty of choice for everyone in a 12 hour music marathon that promises more mindblowing sets than any festival Auckland has seen in recent years.
