Condolences for Martin Crowe
The Green Party expresses its sorrow over the passing of New Zealand cricketing legend Martin Crowe.
“Martin Crowe was an inspirational leader in New Zealand cricket, and an extraordinarily talented guy who shone on the international stage,” Green Party MP Kevin Hague said.
“I would like to extend my sympathies to his family.
“Martin’s prodigious talent meant that we won many cricket games that perhaps we shouldn’t have.
“He has been an influential batting coach to some of the stars today, who carry on his legacy.
“While we mourn his passing, it will bring comfort to many that he was able to attend the recent World Cup and see New Zealand reach the final. We all will have admired the grace he showed in seeing Brendon McCullum break his test cricket high score record.
“So thanks then to Martin Crowe for all the hard work, for some fine cricket, and for being a great leader for New Zealand,” Mr Hague said.
