Auckland on the Menu at City Limits

Auckland on the Menu at City Limits

Fans heading to Auckland City Limits this weekend will be able to get a taste of what Auckland’s artisan food producers have to offer at a special zone showcasing some of the region’s great food and beverages.

The ‘Auckland on the Menu’ zone is a feature of Auckland City Limits – a new annual music and culture festival that’s part of the region’s sizzling summer events calendar – at Western Springs Park and Stadium on Saturday, 19 March.

Music, art, culture and food combine in the first-ever Auckland City Limits Music Festival, which is promoted by CRS (NZ Big Day Out), C3 (Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits) and Live Nation.

The festival is inspired by and aligned with the world-class Austin City Limits Music Festival in Austin, Texas, and its promoters aim to fuse the best elements of Austin’s premier festival with a New Zealand flavour.

Some of this flavour can be found in the Auckland on the Menu zone – a marketplace serving up delectable delights from some of the region’s best artisan food producers across two stalls.

On the first stall, Auckland urban farmers’ market and kitchen Scarecrow has brought together a mouth-watering selection of chocolate, olive oils, spreads, chutneys and designer teas, which will be available to sample and purchase.

Kids can refuel at a carnival-themed second stall, with popcorn, waffles, gluten free treats and gorgeous iced biscuits available for purchase.

The Auckland on the Menu zone is presented by Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED), which has supported Auckland City Limits through its 2015/16 major events sponsorship round.

Patrick McVeigh, General Manager Business, Innovation & Skills, says the Auckland on the Menu concept has been used at The Food Show in Auckland to showcase the region’s artisan producers.

“Auckland and our surrounding regions are well known for top quality food and beverages, and an innovative approach to production, and these will all be on show alongside the top quality line up of entertainment at Auckland City Limits.”

“This is a great opportunity for locals and visitors to see and taste for themselves what Auckland’s artisan producers have to offer.”

Auckland on the Menu is located between the Spark and V Energy stages, and will be open from 11am-11pm. For more information on Auckland City Limits visit www.aucklandcitylimits.com.
