One change for Mondiale Auckland Aces squad

The Mondiale Auckland Aces have made one change to their squad as they head to the Basin Reserve to face the Wellington Firebirds in a top of the table Plunket Shield clash tomorrow.

Last round's narrow victory over the Otago Volts means the Mondiale Aces remain unbeaten in the Plunket Shield this year, the side can secure the coveted shield with a victory this round. Auckland will again be led by Michael Bates with Rob Nicol sidelined. The new man in the traveling squad is Mark Chapman who has returned from international duty at the ICC World Twenty20 with Hong Kong. Chapman made his New Zealand playing return in Auckland last weekend for Parnell.

Mondiale Aces coach Mark O'Donnell says his side know where they sit and aren't simply going to Wellington to try for bonus points.

“We want to win this game. We know they will also be after a victory and we back ourselves to beat any team on a wicket that is doing a bit and looking to produce a result."

"The team has taken a lot of confidence from being able to win tight games this season across the different formats. The guys know there is a lot to play for in this match and no one is lacking motivation."

A team for tomorrow's game will be named from the following 12 players:

Michael Bates (c) (Suburbs New Lynn)
Brad Cachopa (Takapuna)
Mark Chapman (Parnell)
Colin de Grandhomme (Howick Pakuranga)
Lockie Ferguson (Parnell)
Donovan Grobbelaar (Howick Pakuranga)
Michael Guptill-Bunce (Cornwall)
Shawn Hicks (Howick Pakuranga)
Tarun Nethula (Cornwall)
Robbie O'Donnell (Takapuna)
Matthew Quinn (Cornwall)
Jeet Raval (Suburbs New Lynn)
