One Kiwi takes on Four Frenchies to be the Ambassador of Montreal
Local actress, Alison Titular has been selected as one of five finalists for the Ambassador of Montreal – a year long position showcasing the city’s 375th anniversary celebrations.
Alison doesn’t speak French (yet!), however she is pitching her difference as a positive spin. If Alison becomes the Ambassador of Montreal for a year, the world can discover the city and learn the language with her on her journey.
Alison would give a true outsider’s perspective discovering Montreal.
Winning this competition would mean Alison could promote New Zealand, through sharing similarities and differences she discovers between New Zealand and Montreal.
Alison has already promoted Auckland and New Zealand through her video entry [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtH6N6X-KXA].
Upon arriving in Montreal for the position, she will be interviewed which will give her ample opportuity to speak proudly of New Zealand and her intentions in Montreal.
Alison submitted her video entry in February, along with hundreds of other people from 20 different countries. In March 2016 Alison was chosen as one of ten semi-finalists. After a Skype interview with the organisers of 375MTL, Alison was announced as one of the final 5 – the only Kiwi with four other French finalists.
The contest is now decided by a final vote and the finalist with the most voted will become the most votes will become the Ambassador of Montreal.
