Big Smokey X’s Written in the Sky Above Auckland CBD

May 2, 2016

Big Smokey X’s Written in the Sky Above Auckland CBD:

X-Men: Apocalypse is Here

This morning you may see, or hear about, big X shapes being sky-written above the Auckland CBD. Here’s why:

Tickets for X-Men: Apocalypse are NOW ON SALE through all cinemas nationwide. New Zealanders will be among the first-in-the-world to see X-Men: Apocalypse when it opens in cinemas on May 19, one week ahead of the US date of May 27.

20th Century Fox NZ’s marketing team came up with the skywriting idea as a bold way to draw attention to the launch of the biggest boldest film yet in the blockbuster X-Men franchise.

In collaboration with Skysignz, Fox NZ devised the aerial announcement, which is part of today’s launch of an extensive campaign involving large-scale advertising on billboards, television and on buses, radio promotions, social media competitions and live street activities. It’s the start of a 17-day countdown to opening day on May 19.

To celebrate the arrival of this action epic, fans have the opportunity to win tickets to the X-treme screen V Energy NZ Premiere of X-Men: Apocalypse.
