Everything Anyone Ever Wanted

A dynamic theatrical dance work, Everything Anyone Ever Wanted explores the world through a restless and overwhelmed millennial perspective from June 21 – 25 at Q Theatre Loft. Created by award-winning young choreographer; Natalie Maria Clark, Everything Anyone Ever Wanted will resonate with audiences through the introspective and striking embodiment of a generation hanging in the balance.

Clark and a brilliant cast of four bring a melting-pot of choreography, theatricality, projected imagery, and an original musical score to the stage to create Everything Anyone Ever Wanted. The work is both touching and dark as it confronts the growing sense of disappointment amongst millennials – a generation dealing with higher housing and education costs, decreased attachment to religion and meaningful life philosophy, a greater dependence on technology and a transient lifestyle that stagnates them in a continual transition to adulthood.

The creative force behind budding collective Black Sheep Productions, Natalie Maria Clark is an enigmatic and driven young artist; dancer, choreographer, director, producer and more. Her talent has been recognised by industry heavyweights; she has worked with Okareka Dance Company, Footnote NZ Dance, and well-known choreographers Malia Johnston and Sarah Foster-Sproull. Clark choreographed the music video for NZ band Doprah’s 'Stranger People', which was nominated for Best Video at the 2014 Vodafone Music Awards.

With Clark at the helm, Black Sheep Productions have created three full length works including Apt Y Idos, {presence} and the inaugural piece How to Make Friends and Still Appear Normal, which appeared at 5 festivals throughout NZ in 2012-13. How to Make Friends and Still Appear Normal saw Clark winning Best Newcomer and Best Dance at the 2013 NZ Fringe in Wellington.

The cast of four includes dance talents Sofia McIntyre (In Flagrante, The Juniper Passion), Manu Reynaud (4 year member of Footnote Dance Company), Rosa Strati (Demigod/half-Human, Apt Y Idos) and Benjamin Mitchell (The Art of Colour, Brass Poppies). The cast are joined by a powerhouse of theatre practitioners with Ruby Reihana-Wilson designing lighting and operating, and Christopher Stratton bringing his innovative eye to the set and costume design.
