Let Lang Lang shares his
love of the picturesque New Zealand through his magical
piano recital.
For one night only, world renowned Chinese concert pianist Lang Lang will be performing at the Civic Theatre on 12th June. Born in China to a musical family, he began his piano lessons at the tender age of three, and performed his first public recital at the age of five.
He is now one of the most renowned pianist in the world. In 2009, Lang Lang was named one of the Top 100 most influential people by the Time Magazine, had a sold out concert at Royal Albert Hall, and in 2008, Lang Lang partnered with Google and YouTube in the project YouTube Symphony Orchestra.
His performing career has spanned from classical such as Teatro del Silenzio hosted by Andrea Bocelli in 2007, or Nobel Prize concert in 2007, to more mainstream events such as the 2006 FIFA World Cup opening, to performing the iconic “One” with Metallica at the 56th Grammy Award, and PSY at the 2014 Asian Games, or “Happy” with Pharrell Williams and Hans Zimmer in 2015 at the 57th Grammy Award.
