Host Announced for Tv2's Survivor New
Zealand
Seven Sharp reporter Matt Chisholm will host one of the most hotly-anticipated series, Survivor New Zealand, coming soon to TV2.
Matt has been entertaining Kiwis since joining TVNZ’s Close Up in 2008, then as part of the Seven Sharp team for the last four years. Over that time he has experienced everything from being kissed by an angry butcher, paddling through the night with Trans-Tasman rowers, to taking it all off to experience what it is to be a naturist.
The move to be host of one of the biggest shows to come to New Zealand is incredibly exciting for Matt: “I never would have dreamed that I would be part of the Survivor phenomenon. Working in News and Current Affairs is a fantastic ride but I’m looking forward to dipping my toes in new waters for a bit!”
“I can’t wait to watch the castaways slug it out, in what is one of the hardest reality-show competitions in the world.”
TVNZ’s Director of Content, Jeff Latch says: “Matt has proved himself to be an engaging and intelligent reporter over the years. Couple that with his wicked sense of humour and how he loves to throw himself into any situation, Matt is the perfect host for Survivor New Zealand.”
Survivor New Zealand sees Kiwi ‘castaways’ battle it out in an ultimate test of endurance, strength and strategy. Castaways compete in reward and immunity challenges, with weekly eliminations by tribal vote, until there is only one 'Sole Survivor'.
More than 8,000 hopeful Kiwis applied to be part of the international television phenomenon, enough potential castaways to cast the next 10 series.
Survivor New Zealand will air on TV2 at a later date.
Survivor New Zealand is produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production New Zealand.
Applications for Survivor New Zealand have now closed.
