League 4 Life Hosts "Broke" Movie Premiere

Kiwis legend Mark Graham will be among the special guests, when the League 4 Life Foundation hosts the NZ premiere of Broke, a movie about gambling addiction in sport and how it can devastate the lives of former star players.

Broke has Steve Le Marquand as rugby league legend BK Kelly, who has lost everything, much of it through his own mismanagement.

Kelly comes undone at the hands of gambling and alcohol, but those behind new Australian film Broke hope to open the eyes of fans to the frailties of those we idolise.

Film producer Luke Graham is the son of Mark Graham, and the flashback sequences of Kelly's playing days are actually of Graham Senior in his heyday.

The premiere event will be held on June 1 at Rialto Newmarket and tickets can be purchased here. The premier will include a Q&A session with special guests, including Mark Graham.

League 4 Life has also partnered with Problem Gambling to highlight some of the serious issues that ex-league players can face.

With the foundation supports ex-players and their families, as they face times of hardship, so this film offers a great opportunity to profile what the foundation can do.

Broke will open in cinemas soon after the premiere and for every ticket sold nationally, $1 will be donated to the League 4 Life Foundation.
