Calling For Entries 25th Annual Wallace Art Awards 2016

The Wallace Arts Trust are calling for entries to the 25th Annual Wallace Art Awards 2016, with prizes amounting to over $210,000 in value, including international art residencies, monetary prizes and stipends.

Contemporary New Zealand painting, sculpture, video, drawing and unique photography and print are all eligible to be submitted. The Awards are given to encourage and develop the visual arts in New Zealand and to highlight artists creating remarkable work. In 2015 the Wallace Arts Trust received 531 entries from which 85 entries were been selected as finalists.

The 2016 Awards will be judged by prominent members of the arts sector’ Andrew Clifford, Georgina Ralston, Philip Trusttum, Richard Maloy and Sam Mitchell.

The exhibitions will be opened by one of the original judges for the first awards in 1992, Philippa Lady Tait. The opening will be at the Pah Homestead, TSB Bank Wallace Arts Centre, Monday 5 September 2016, in an invitation only ceremony.

• Wallace Gallery Morrinsville: 30 November 2016 – 5 February 2017 (Opening: 3 December, 11am – 1pm)

2. The Salon des Refusés will be exhibited at the Pah Homestead from 6 September – 6 November 2016
