Strong Designer Showcase Confirmed for 2016 New Zealand Fashion Week

New Zealand Fashion Week (NZFW) is thrilled to announce its provisional designer line up for 2016, with a strong stable of established and emerging talent set to showcase their collections on the NZFW catwalks at the ANZ Viaduct Events Centre from Monday 22 August - Sunday 28 August.

Celebrated design duo Harman Grubiša has been revealed as the recipients of Mercedes-Benz Presents accolade for 2016 and will open NZFW in their signature style with an elegant show on Monday evening at 8.30pm.

Some of the country’s best-loved labels feature across the schedule with forward-season looks from Hailwood, Federation, Carena West, Wynn Hamlyn, Lucilla Gray, Eugenie and Salasai showcased at the ANZ Viaduct Events Centre and Huffer, Stolen Girlfriends Club, Knuefermann and Twenty Seven Names presenting their collections at off-site venues.

Streetwear label Federation returns to the NZFW stable with renewed strength, showing collections to both the trade audience during the week and to consumers during NZ Fashion Weekend. This is a full circle celebration for the brand, who first participated as New Generation designers in 2002 to international acclaim.

Following their successful first appearances at New Zealand Fashion Week in 2015, Wynn Hamlyn, Lucilla Gray and Carena West are all presenting their collections independently within the Contemporary Salon category this year. Wynn Hamlyn will show his beautifully-crafted modern pieces on Tuesday, quirky and feminine Lucilla Gray designs will be presented on Wednesday, while Carena West will exhibit her statement swimwear on Thursday afternoon. Penny Sage will also show as a Contemporary Salon designer, bringing her special brand of minimalist luxury to the line-up.
