New indie radio station in the heart of the city
Heard the one about the little indie radio station that made its home in a record shop? When it broke the records, the shop owner had to give it a vinyl warning.
We’re hoping that won’t be the story with Rough Peel Radio, now broadcasting out of Rough Peel Music shop in Wellington’s Cuba Street precinct, but we do hope to set some new records. For example, do you know we are the first radio station in Wellington, possibly New Zealand, to be broadcasting from a record shop?
Rough Peel Radio is broadcasting online and on an FM signal. We’re playing non-commercial indie music, everything including dubstep, EDM, 80s post punk to post rock.
Check us out. We’re live now. Tune in to 107.1FM in Wellington or stream us worldwide at www.roughpeel.fm. For more information, visit our Facebook page or find us at Rough Peel Music.
There’s also a launch party on Friday 5 August 2016 at the San Francisco Bathhouse. The line-up includes live music by Wellington art rock band, Lovers in Monaco, and a list of top DJ talent including DJ Lemon, The Spotlight Kid, Big A, Kreuzberg and Jedi. Come and join us for the launch of this exciting new project.
The Rough Peel Radio launch party begins at 8pm. Entry is free!
Wellington doesn’t get a new radio station every day, especially one that plays the kinds of music you won’t hear on other stations.
