Three
days of bluebird skies and epic snow laid the groundwork for
a superb three-day weekend at Canterbury’s Mt Hutt ski
area.

After receiving 35cms of wind affected snow from last week’s storm, Friday provided some great powder stashes for skiers and snowboarders to enjoy. The fresh covering topped up main trails, and snow groomers did an amazing job keeping trails in “tip top shape” for guests skiing over the weekend.
Mt Hutt hosted two days of ski races for young alpine ski racers from around New Zealand - the Junior Interfields and New Zealand Youth Series. The Norwegian Womens Ski Team were also training on the mountain.
Sunshine, snow and stunning views over the
Canterbury Plains all add up to superb spring skiing
conditions throughout the remainder of the season. Skiers
and snowboarders can access all Mt Hutt’s extensive trails
and off-piste opportunities.
