To celebrate opening weekend of the London Design Festival, New Zealand designer Helen M. Strevens has worked with Tektura to create “Pink Horse”.
Strevens has taken a traditional origami horse form and enlarged it using specially designed wallpaper. The pattern on the paper, called “topography”, was inspired by geographic drawings that Strevens used when she made site plans as an architect. The bold colours and organic curves of the pattern make an interesting counterpoint to the angular and elegant form of the horse.
The sculpture is beautiful and fantastical, reminding one that we are never too old to dream. Topography is available from Tektura – www.tektura.com
