We won't keep you long, except to say that it takes a community to make a Brown Bread Art Project happen...

You may already know this about us but we love great art. We also love making impossible ideas happen and we freaking love community driven projects. In 2014, Brown Bread collaborated with NZ artist Regan Gentry to plant Woods From The Trees outside of C1 Espresso on High Street - a public artwork made up of waste demolition wood from earthquake-damaged residential properties in Christchurch. It was funded by the community and it still belongs to the community today.

Now, we're doing it again - this time with Christchurch artist and longtime friend of Brown Bread, Wayne Youle. The Affirmation Collection is a series of five light boxes located inside the new South Frame of Christchurch, each conveying a different affirmation. You can think of them as pats on the back as you navigate this game-changing city.

On Thursday we're launching The Affirmation Collection PledgeMe campaign. We've already been lucky enough to have generous support from local organisations, including Connectics and Strata Group - but there's still a long way to go.

If you want to play a hand in making the seemingly impossible happen, find your voice in the rebuild, or just see some damn good art out and about in the city, there’s a pledge with your name on it.
