Food glorious food!!!

Food glorious food!!!

Food, creativity, design, emotion … what more is there in life?

Otago Polytechnic’s two Food Design Honours students will present their end-of-year food experiences on Thursday (Nov 17th).

At 7pm, Penelope Baldwin presents “Bad Medicine: Love Potion”. This is an edible modern exploration of the foods of love throughout time and culture. A botanical-infused multi-course gathering, designed to nourish the senses and encourage joy.

Then, at 8pm, Emily Jory will delight with “A Sweet Encounter”. Indulge yourself in an evening of desserts. Enjoy a five course multi-sensory dining experience and get to know Emily through a delicious menu inspired by her ‘first’ memories and experiences:
· First memory: learning to peel carrots in kindergarten
carrot and citrus custard between layers of thin crispy pastry, orange curd, carrot and orange sorbet and crisp carrot strips.
· First time flying:
green apple and mint pop coated in a thin layer of lightly scorched meringue
· first love:
pink moscato parfait, smoked white chocolate espuma, strawberry gel, smoked strawberry, raw ginger shortbread
· first heart break:
chocolate fondant, Kahlua and vodka ice cream, cocoa crumb, blackberry??-might change.
· first time i felt like a 'real' pastry chef:
