The countdown is on to the Monkees 50th anniversary tour

+ Micky Dolenz’s sister Coco joins the NZ tour

Excitement is building ahead of the New Zealand leg of the Monkees 50th anniversary tour, with limited tickets to both shows still available.

Times may change but infectious pop hits, like ‘Last Train To Clarksville’, ‘Day Dream Believer’ and ‘I’m A Believer’, and wonderfully charismatic characters, stay in our hearts and memories forever.

This month, New Zealanders will get to relive the magic on Tuesday, November 29 at the Isaac Theatre in Christchurch and on Wednesday, November 30 at the ASB Theatre in Auckland, with two of the surviving Monkees members Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork.

Also just announced - Micky Dolenz’s sister Coco will join the band for the New Zealand leg of the tour.

Coco and Micky were born into showbiz – their father George was the star of TV’s ‘Count Of Monte Cristo’ and appeared in countless other films and TV series.

Coco has also been a part of the Monkees madness right from the beginning. Having hung out with Micky, Davy, Peter and Mike, she had a unique insight into the band’s chemistry. With all the craziness happening around them, Coco provided a steadying support for Micky on set and joined the band on many of their recordings. Coco has been a part of the Monkees concert tours ever since.

‘Just A Game’ (written by Micky)
‘Shorty Blackwell’ (written by Micky about his cat, or is it?)
‘Mommy and Daddy’ (written by Micky)
‘Little Girl’ (written by Micky)
‘Midnight Train’ (written by Micky)
‘DW Washburn’
‘She’ll Be There’

These shows promise to be evenings of magic music and multi-media splendor, including clips from their Emmy Award winning series. The shows feature all of the Monkees hits, plus intimate acoustic sets and solo spots for each of the singers.
