Full Line-up Announced for Coastella Music Festival: a Summery Discovery Featuring the Music of Ireland

Coastella Music Festival announces its full line-up for next year’s festival, with foot-stomping Americana, head-banging synth-pop and engaging indie rock to accompanying the music from Ireland.

As well as the headline acts Mundy, ALDOC and The Phoenix Foundation, Coastella is excited to present live hip hop group, Raw Collective, who will be returning to home turf in Kāpiti, with their energetic live show. Their music takes inspiration from many genres to create an honest, original and raucous energy. Now regularly playing closing sets at Wellington’s big summer festivals (Cuba Dupa, Newtown Festival, Tora Tora Tora), the Raw Collective will surely be crowd pleasers for local audiences.

Also in the line-up is the groundbreaking NZ dream pop band French for Rabbits (The Vampire Diaries, Being Human) who are sure to woo audiences with their ‘distinctly antipodean’ music deeply rooted in nature.

Disasteradio will bring the best of electronic music, having performed over 400 shows across 22 countries from China to the Netherlands. Alt-country band Eb and Sparrow blends country, folk, indie and old-time soul, their 2015 album Sun/Son earning them a finalist position for both album and song at the NZ Country Music Awards. Electric guitarist and Kāpiti local Ben Fulton, known as Phäeton, draws upon diverse influences to share moving, beautiful solo electric arrangements of unique songs and original compositions. Lisa Tomlins and The Presidents of Funk blend soul, funk, RnB and will be bringing the best of 60s and 70s James Brown to funk up the after party.

A new partnership with Wellington Culinary Events Trust means food vendors will be hand picked by Visa Wellington On A Plate.

Always looking to expand horizons, Festival Director Gerry Paul is also pioneering audience and musician proximity with ‘Tiny Town’, the tiniest live venue in the world. A half-length shipping container converted into a small venue with a stage, sound system and lights will allow a maximum of 4 audience members at a time to enjoy an intimate musical experience.

Early bird tickets are available until 28 December or until all are sold out.

Don’t miss your chance to take part in this summery discovery!
