Everything but The Kitchen Sink

Everything but The Kitchen Sink

Life can throw everything in your path except the kitchen sink … and then it will throw the kitchen sink at you. For improvisers, this is what every show feels like says Artistic Director Laura Irish.

“You never know what the audience is going to throw at you; and you never know where your fellow improvisers will take you, but that’s all part of the challenge and excitement of improvisation” she says.

“We’re also really excited about this show as we’ve managed to entice Dan Allan from The Deep End out of improvisation retirement, and we’re also extremely fortunate to have Linda Calgaro from Sydney joins us.”

“I’m looking forward to engaging the wonderful Nelson crowd once again with the surprise and wonder of spontaneous stories and interactions”, said Allan. He’s also looking forward to working with Linda Calgaro, Sydney improviser, singer, musician, director, actor and teacher who has recently relocated to Nelson.

“We are immensely delighted to have an improviser and teacher of Linda’s talents joining us in Nelson”, says Irish.

Calgaro first came to Nelson to teach and perform at the Nelson Fringe Festival and loved the creative energy and atmosphere. She has since relocated from Sydney and come on board as Off the Cuff co-Artistic Director and is looking forward to sharing her talents and becoming part of the diverse depth of talent we have here in Nelson. As well as joining the Off the Cuff troupe she is also teaching improvisation classes and part of the 2017 Nelson Fringe Festival team.
