Out Dancing REI

Out Dancing REI

With the demand for more conscious lyrics emerging worldwide, REI sets his sights on launching his sound with a fresh fusion of NZ Hip Hop.

Out Dancing is the latest single out from REIs upcoming second album called A Place To Stand.

This track is much more than what the title suggests. Out Dancing speaks of the internal struggle in the mind when your partner is hitting the town without you and your left curbing your own paranoia. With REIs solid vocals and striking production (mixed and mastered at Kog Studio) Out Dancing is sure to rewind on your playlist.

The track is a club banger with deep beats and high kicks, but the difference is it has those extra levels of meaning we all want to experience.

REI is a multi-award winning artist, winning best Urban Album at the Waiata Māori Music awards and Best Video in 2016. More than this, he is a singer, songwriter, musician, beat-writer and an advocate for the next generation of Aotearoa urban artists, paving the way with a distinctive style.

I always try to express who I am in my music, being a young kiwi of Māori and Pākeha whakapapa. I often use Te Reo and local references to solidify my place in New Zealand. I mix this with an international style of production to also appeal to overseas audiences.”
