Millennials Vote YEAH for John Key’s Resignation

Click for big version.

Overnight the millennials of the nation have spoken following Prime Minister John Key’s resignation with over 98% supporting his move to step down – even from those that back National.

Opinionated young New Zealanders have been voting using YeahNah, an app geared towards collecting opinions with a single swipe.

With comments ranging from, "More awkward than a three-way handshake", "Max Key’s likes set to mimic '87 crash", "John Key claps back over denied New Years leave", "Say it ain't so, bro", "Are you off to be Barack's caddie?" and “Smart move, letting English step in – hope he’s ready to be the Beaver of politics“ – it’s clear that millennials, regardless of their political inclinations, respect the Prime Minister’s reasons to retire early and handover the reins of the National party.

YEAHNAH

Drawing on the tried-and-true aesthetic and functionality of Instagram and Tinder, the app’s premise is appealingly simple: it does exactly what it says on the tin, inviting users to respond to a captioned image with a single swipe to indicate approval (Yeah) or rejection (Nah).

Like Facebook Reactions, or the dreaded comments section, this allows users to instantly crowdsource and gauge public opinion on anything from a trending news story to an idea for a new product to whether that super weird hangover cure is legit.
