Fastway helps Cure Kids

Fastway Couriers has come to the rescue for children’s health charity Cure Kids, distributing more than 270,000 pieces of merchandise free-of-charge for its iconic annual appeal, Red Nose Day.

Fastway Couriers were looking for a way to support Red Nose Day and helping with the massive task of moving stock around the country was an obvious choice.

Mark Little, Fastway’s General Manager of Sales, said that there had been broad support from the across the country to get behind the campaign, which nationally has raised over $800,000 so far.

“All the Regional Franchisees bought into the idea and didn’t charge a cent,” said Mr. Little.

“We ended up couriering 90,000 red noses, 62,000 pins, 46,000 wristbands, 40,000 novelty noses, 36,000 slap bands and 3,500 car noses all over New Zealand and saving significant funds for Cure Kids and Red Nose Day supporters, which was fantastic,” he said.

For Mr. Little, supporting Cure Kids was also meaningful at a personal level.

“My daughter suffered from a rare form of cancer and is now thankfully in full remission. It’s great to be able to get behind an organisation that is funding research to help improve outcomes for kids like my daughter.”

Cure Kids CEO, Frances Benge, says that the support of Fastway Couriers was a vital part of the campaign’s success.

“Getting all our merchandise for Red Nose Day around the country is a huge task and can be expensive. Reducing costs wherever we can is vital for us, so what Fastway Couriers have done to support the campaign this year is hugely appreciated.”
