HAMILTON UNDERGROUND PRESS

PRESS RELEASE: For immediate release, December 8 2016

HAMILTON UNDERGROUND PRESS ANNOUNCES FURTHER LINE-UP AND TICKETING DETAILS FOR ‘FUTURE CITY 2017’

Hamilton Underground Press today announced further line-up and ticketing details for its inaugural music festival, FUTURE CITY 2017. The festival will take place on the 3rd and 4th of March, across two venues, Nivara Lounge and Creative Waikato, both in Hamilton’s CBD. Around 25-30 bands will play in total.

In November the DIY music organisation released details of the first ten bands that will take part - Alexa Dexa (NYC), Wax Chattels (Akl), Invisible Threads (Akl), The Joint Chiefs (Wgtn), Threat.Meet.Protocol (Katikati), Contenders (Ham), Old Loaves (Ham), Celebrity Death Hoax (Ham), Rumpus Room (Ham) and Halcyon Birds (Ham).

It has today released details of more artists confirmed to play next year. Joining the above will another overseas act, Montreal-based electro-noise-experimentalist Blankets. A host of indie/punk bands from Auckland will also appear, namely Two Cartoons, Skux, The Biscuits, Spawts and Centre Negative along with hip-hop from the incredible Dbldbl. Hamilton is also strongly represented with punk bands Wizz Kids and The Recently Deceived being joined by indie-rock from Ancient Tapes, Louder Louder, Half Eaten Pie and DateMonthYear. Surf-rockers The Hollow Grinders, trip-hopper WendyD and electro-rock starlet Glass Shards complete the list of local bands taking part.
