Summer Star Trek "Journey to Babel"

Summer Star Trek "Journey to Babel"

Four years into their five-year mission, the crew of the Enterprise is back for another fantastic season of Summer Star Trek for a Journey to Babel.

Summer Star Trek is a live, outdoor theatrical performance of the Star Trek: The Original Series episode “Journey to Babel”. Situated in the sheltered Aro Park in the Aro Valley (right next to the world’s greatest fish and chip shop), Summer Star Trek is a great chance to bring a picnic, grab family and friends, and enjoy the best of Wellington’s summer.

This year is the Enterprise is full of many different alien delegations, there to negotiate a peace agreement. Things are tense but in control... until one of the ambassadors is murdered! Making matters worse, Spock's father is the prime suspect! And there's a strange ship pacing the Enterprise, communicating with someone inside. Can the crew solve this murder mystery in space, while dealing with spies, unknown vessels and trying to save someone's life?

This year's show sees some favourite participants return, including James Bayliss as Kirk and Jono Ensor as Spock. They are joined by newcomers Charlie Potter as Amanda and Phil Mtabo as Sarek. Taking the helm this year is Director Devon Nuku, who must wrangle all the action onstage and off!

The shows in Aro Park are January 11-14 and 18-21 at 6.30, with pre-show entertainment from 6PM. All shows are koha.
