The AM Show: Making Mornings More Awesome From February 13

The AM Show arrives on television, radio and digital devices from 6am on Monday the 13th of February.

Join Duncan Garner, Amanda Gillies and Mark Richardson as they bring you a whole new way to wake up.

Duncan says he’s fizzing about getting this multi-platform extravaganza on the airwaves. “Expect the fast-paced, informative and entertaining start to the morning you’ve grown to love on TV3 and RadioLIVE - but we’ll be a bit different too. We’ve kept the best bits, made some exciting changes, and we think New Zealand is going to love it.”

“I can’t wait. We’ve got a fresh new look for the set, a new sound and a new vibe - and we want to share it with you - February 13 can’t come soon enough. In the meantime, we thought we’d give everyone a sneak peek at our set.”

Mark Richardson has been coaching his co-hosts on early starts. “The results are encouraging,” says Mark. “We’ve been practising as a team, and Duncan and Amanda are still managing to be clever and coherent, despite the 2:30am alarm. Having a great crew to banter with around the desk certainly helps.”

Joining the on-air team is a dedicated group of Newshub reporters who, supported by the wider Newshub team, will provide the latest news and coverage. The AM Show’s reporting team includes Aziz Al-Sa'afin, Ollie Richie and Shannon Redstall in Auckland, Alice Wilkins in Christchurch and Mitch McCann in Wellington.

Aziz brings his unique approach to The AM Show as the show’s social media voice, regularly covering content and opinions from the web, and giving the audience a direct line of feedback to the show.

Executive Producer of The AM Show Sarah Bristow says, “We’ve closed the door on the social media bunker and are working to expand the show’s engagement with our audience on social media and beyond from inside the studio. Aziz lives and breathes social and is the perfect person to tell us what will be filling our feeds on a daily basis.”
